Long-Term Holder Economic Supply shows how much of the economic supply base is currently held by older holders, expressed in satoshis. It is the absolute-value LTH series, so it measures mature holder inventory itself rather than that inventory’s percentage of the total base.
A rising series means more BTC is sitting with older holders. A falling series means mature held supply has been drawn down and reset younger. It is most useful with STH Economic Supply and LTH Economic Supply Share, where scale and composition need to be separated.
The key distinction is unit choice. The sats series tells you whether older-holder inventory actually grew or shrank, while the share version only tells you whether that inventory became more or less dominant inside the total economic supply base.
