Bitcoin HODL Waves, BTC

Age bands stacked in BTC, derived from Economic UTXO Supply.

About HODL Waves (BTC)

HODL Waves, BTC use the same age buckets as standard HODL Waves but show BTC held in each band instead of share of supply. The age structure is unchanged; the difference is that normalization is removed, so the chart shows actual coin inventory rather than composition.

A rising old band in BTC means more coin volume has aged into that cohort. A falling old band means dormant inventory has actually left that bucket and reset younger. It is most useful when the question is absolute scale, especially beside standard HODL Waves.

The key distinction is unit choice. A percentage band can rise because another band shrank faster, while the BTC amount changed only slightly. This version removes that ambiguity and is therefore the inventory view, not the composition view.
